Blockchain-Enabled IoT Systems: Securing Data in Smart Cities
Abstract
The convergence of blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies offers promising solutions for securing data in smart city applications. This paper explores the design and implementation of blockchain-enabled IoT systems to address challenges such as data integrity, privacy, and decentralized control. We propose a novel architecture that leverages blockchain's immutability and smart contracts for secure communication between IoT devices. Experimental results from a smart city prototype demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in enhancing security and trust in IoT ecosystems.
